Orlando's Attorneys of the Year 2024

Heather D. Stewart

Heather joined The Marks Law Firm, P.A. – Family Law & Divorce Attorneys in June 2023. She has a passion for people and families and wants to serve them right where they are with the experience and knowledge she has. Originally from rural central NY, Heather moved to Florida with her family as a child and grew up in Lake County. Over the years, she has moved to Orange, Seminole, and Volusia but now resides in Brevard County with her husband Chris of over 17 years and her youngest two children, Bethany and Manny.

Heather was a Divorced mother of two for years when she met Chris. The couple is a successful example of second marriages working through difficulties, clinging to the good, and overcoming obstacles associated with prior marriages and blended families to build a new life together.

For Heather, working for a Family Law firm is an opportunity to work with and serve people who are walking the hard road she herself has walked. Very few things in this life will have a greater impact than issues that influence families so for Heather, she values the trust her Clients place in her hands to help grow, heal, or preserve what is most precious – family life.

As a practitioner, providing peace of mind to Clients about their rights is fundamental for Heather. Not knowing what to do, what not to do, what can or cannot be done, or how Family Law works can be confusing to a Client. She believes that an Attorney who practices good communication and good counsel to Clients will calm fears, reduce anxiety, and expose real or empty threats. If reconciliation or healthy negotiations are possible from the start, she will work to objectively counsel families from that position early on. Her goal is not to push Clients into a courtroom. However, if reconciliation is not possible, or if negotiations or mediations fail to settle Clients’ matters timely, she will move forward with both compassion and professionalism through the Litigation process.
